The Must-Have Book to Get You on the Road to Fulfillment and REALLY LIVING!
When was the last time you were Feeling Great? Not just physically, but robustly fulfilled and happy?
There may be many reasons why you haven’t attained that peak—or maybe you have, but not for long. But sustained peak living—true ongoing contentment—eludes most of us.
But now there is a fascinating and complete guidebook that offers a simple blueprint for a lifelong embodiment of true contentment. Feeling Great, Creating a Life of Optimism, Enthusiasm and Contentment (HCI Books), by a triad of leading wisdom keepers–Dadi Janki, Peter Vegso, and Kelly Johnson–lets you really OWN a permanently elevated state of mind and way of life.
Feeling great is not something that can be bottled and bought. It does not come from where we live, what we drive, or who we know. It’s not about having a good time for a few hours, or about having money to spend. It’s about putting your life in order and remembering who you really are—an authentic way of living from the inside that will sustain you through life’s challenges.
In this treasure of a book, built on the timeless spiritual teachings of visionary Dadi Janki, revered leader of the worldwide Brahma Kumari Spiritual Movement, you will learn the precepts for feeling great and the three keys that unlock the ability to attain it. Charming parables, specific examples and insightful exercises further illuminate this wisdom. Coauthors Peter Vegso and Kelly Johnson reveal practical applications to help you navigate and overcome the sticking points we all encounter in our hectic, overscheduled lives.
Our world is often fraught with confusion and tension. Our workplaces—and even our supposed safe haven, our homes— can be magnets for chaos. And there are our personal lives to contend with—our physical, emotional, and spiritual health has more influence over our ability to feel great than anything we experience on the outside. With so much going on in and around us, the quest to feel great for any length of time can feel pretty hopeless. But it isn’t hopeless. It’s actually quite possible—and easier than you think.
Feeling Great breaks down the elements that must be present in your life to experience sustained peak living. It succinctly brings forth what needs to be cast aside, what needs to be adapted, and how to get from that place of emptiness to robustness as you build character traits that strengthen your contentment muscle.
Here are just a few of the lessons to be learned in greater depth from Feeling Great:
• We learn about the gravity of negativity, when encumbered emotions such as resentment, wounded pride and rejection hold us down and drain the goodwill and spontaneity from our lives.
• Enthusiasm, optimism and contentment are among the keys that can free us from such chaos. We learn that these qualities spring from faith in the goodness of the Self and life. This faith returns to us when we start to understand the wonderful Tree of Humanity and the eternal seed through which it is renewed.
• In essence, it is love that enables us to feel great. Love is in all of us, but in order to flourish, it needs to be tended with spirituality. When we demand love from the world around us, we destroy our own ability to receive it. We must nurture it within ourselves and live it overtly, because only then can we experience the joy of both giving and receiving it. When we truly experience and practice that kind of love, we have learned to live authentically, and there is no greater feeling than that.
Feeling Great began life as a beautiful pamphlet from Dadi Janki, who at 99 years old is still the heart and soul of the Brahma Kumaris, an organization that acknowledges the intrinsic goodness of all people and is committed to spiritual growth and personal transformation of all who want to experience and create a world of peace. At 21 Dadi joined the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University and has dedicated her life to the spiritual service of others. Since 1974, she has overseen the expansion of the Brahma Kumaris’ work in more than 70 countries and is now the university’s co-administrative head. Dadi is one of the Wisdom Keepers, an eminent group of spiritual leaders convened at United Nations conferences. She is also founder and president of the Janki Foundation for Global Health Care and vice president of the World Congress of Faiths.
Peter Vegso, entrepreneur and pioneer of self-help publishing, best known for being the original publisher of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and Kelly Johnson, writer, editor and marketing whiz for personal growth books, were inspired by Dadi’s pamphlet on Feeling Great, and sought to work with her to expand the concepts into a full length book. Hence, from their combined effort has come forth Feeling Great, Creating a Life of Optimism, Enthusiasm and Contentment.
If you are ready to start feeling great today– not as a temporary indulgence, but as a lasting state of being—than Feeling Great is a must-have gem.

Dadi Janki is a woman of wisdom. Her life’s journey has been a fulfillment of her early childhood longing to know and come close to God.
Dadi was born in 1916 in India to a devout and philanthropic family. She had no formal education beyond the age of fourteen, her studies being mainly of the scriptures. At the age of 21, she joined the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University and has since dedicated her life to the spiritual service of others.
Dismissing the constraints of social conventions including the caste system, Dadi Janki became one of the few active women spiritual leaders just following India’s independence, traveling throughout India, teaching self-reliance and empowering women to become leaders in their communities.
Her concern for the well-being of others has always been a driving force in her life. Much of her youth was spent serving the sick by comforting them with religious stories and humble prayers. Indeed, her own life has been marred by illness, which tested and helped her to develop her own ability to conquer physical infirmity through greater spiritual awareness.
Dadi campaigns for truth and works tirelessly for world peace. She travels worldwide, teaching and sharing her wisdom and deep spiritual knowledge. She is a soul who refuses to set limits and boundaries as to what is achievable and, in so doing, inspires other to believe that they, too, can make the impossible possible. Recognized worldwide for the depth and insight of her lectures and spiritual classes, her words of wisdom have given wings to countless souls.
Since arriving in London in 1974, Dadi has overseen the expansion of the Brahma Kumaris’ work in more than 70 countries and is now the university’s co-administrative head. Dadi is one of the Wisdom Keepers, an eminent group of spiritual leaders convened at United Nations conferences. She is also founder and president of the Janki Foundation for Global Health Care and vice president of the World Congress of Faiths.
The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University’s purpose is to help people explore their highest level of personal integrity and the attributes of leadership. This unique method of education in human moral and spiritual values was initiated in 1936 and is currently offered in more than 70 countries.
Peter Vegso is an entrepreneur and pioneer of self-help publishing, best known for being the original publisher of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Vegso has been having a diverse and open dialogue with God for most of his life. His appreciation of Dadi Janki and the mission of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University led them to this special collaboration. Originally from Canada, he has spent the last 30 years in Boca Raton and Ocala, Florida, where he enjoys life with his wife of 40 years, Anne, their children and three very active grandsons.
Kelly Johnson has worked in the publishing industry for many years,
selling and marketing other people’s books. When the opportunity to write Feeling Great with Peter Vegso and Dadi Janki came along, it was an unexpected honor. Johnson gratefully lives near the sea in Satellite Beach (Melbourne), Florida,
writing and doing the work she loves.
